About Us
Health Journalist’s Forum Nepal (HJFN) is a common platform of active journalist working on Health beat. It was established in 30 Saun 2071 ( AD: 15 Aug 2014), in which health journalists from Newspaper, Online Portal , Radio and Television are involved.
The HJFN, which is registered at District Administrative Office (DOA) Kathmandu, is also associated with Social Welfare Council, Nepal. Currently, there are 75 members actively associated with HJF and this organization is seeking to expand its membership across the nation for promoting and advancing public health in Nepal.
While HJFN seeks to ensure the occupational safety and capability building of health journalists, the organization also advocates for people-centric (oriented) health journalism and the protection of people’s right to quality health facilities and services. Additionally, HJFN seeks to address any communication and/or coordination issues among public, private, national and international institutions working in the field of public health.
HJFN also identifies itself as a driver for the integration and expansion of Nepalese health journalism at national as well as international platforms. Moreover, since its inception, the HJFN has been closely working with governmental, nongovernmental, national, and international institutions for advancing and promoting public health in Nepal.
